Q: How can I enter my olive oils to OLIVE JAPAN 2020 International Olive Oil Competition?
Please fill out the online registration form (will be appeared on this website after November 25, 2019) and send it. The confirmation E-mail will sent you and pay the entry fee within 10 days by Credit Card or wired to our bank account.

Q: Who can enter?
Extra virgin olive oils produced in the 2019 crop year and submitted by individual producers, producers’ associations and authorized distributors may be entered in the competition. The entry oil should be the “Commercial” products which had been sold in the market.
Q: Entry Fee – How much does it cost to enter?
The entry fee is ¥25,300 (from overseas entry – US$250.00 or Euro 220.00) for each oil entered. Japanese Consumption Tax included. Payment must be made by Credit Card or bank wire transfer(and you also must pay any bank charges for transfer).
Q: When should I send my samples of olive oil?
The competition is for the 2019 harvest year. You can send samples as soon as you have oils from your 2019 harvest. The samples should be arrived no later than April 14th, 2020.
Q: How and T0 Where should I send my samples?
Your samples will be received from now and no later than April 14th, 2020. All samples should be packed with the return receipt e-mail of your registration on the inside and the name of the producer marked cleary on the outside.
All sample shipments to JAPAN must be cleary declared as “SAMPLE, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE” “NO FOR SALE” in the applicable commercial invoices and pro-forma invoice and the packing list attache with the samples.
For each entry, three 500ML (four 250ML, or seven for 100ML/150ML/200ML) bottles are required. Wrap each bottle in cushoning and float the samples in packing material in a box.
Samples must be received before April 14th 2020. OLIVE JAPAN will not pay any customs fees or other shipping charges.

Q: Do I need to be in Tokyo for the competition?
No, but your olive oil does.
Q: When will the winners be announced?
The contest winners will be unveiled at a press conference and this website on May 1st, 2020. Complete results will be distributed through the international media after May 1st, 2020.
Q: Can I attend the OLIVE JAPAN SHOW event?
Of course Yes ! “OLIVE JAPAN SHOW” throughout the venue will be open to food industry professionals, aspiring chefs and everyone else. It will be take place during mid-late July at SEIBU Department Store IKEBUKURO flagship store.
If you got win any awards in OLIVE JAPAN 2020 and if you have your distributor in Japan, you can exhibit at the Show to sell your products at the venue.

The OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition is judged by a distinguished panel of international experts ever assembled for an olive oil contest. The list of the judges are on this website.
Q: Who are the event organizers?
The OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition is organized by The Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan (OSAJ)- the NGO/NPO, who is quite independent and neutral body from the olive oil industry. OSAJ was established for purposing to develop the fair and quality oriented olive oil market in Japan.
